Be-Mobile only offers premium traffic information. To do this we have developed our award winning SmartMove technology that blends real-time travel times from millions of vehicles with live feedback from the drivers and traffic data captured by fixed road sensors.

We involve the vehicles

An important part within the Be-Mobile SmartMove technology is the continious measurement of vehicle travel times between 2 points in order to calculate the average speed and identify traffic jams.

In collaboration with the University and our sister company Flow, we continuously and anonymously monitor the travel times on the most relevant traffic axes, of millions of vehicles using innovative blue tooth technology, automatic number plate recognition, GPS track & trace and smartphone tracking.

All these different travel times are aggregated into one global aggregated travel time picture. This allows the production of accurate Traffic Flow Data on the total road network: highways and secondary roads, including arterials and side streets.

This is a radical break with the traditional ways of collecting traffic information based on vehicle counting using fixed road sensors like inductive loops. Instead of monitoring the traffic status at a fixed position, we monitor the traffic flow itself!
